Homework Expectations

The primary purpose of homework is practice, an extension of the day’s work, time to work on long-term projects or an investigation of something for class discussion, not introduction of a new skill. Students should be able to complete it independently. If unable to complete an assignment independently, please notify your teacher. 7th—8th grade teachers work together as a team to plan for approximately one hour nightly, unless a student opts to take on extra courses or enrichment, such as language, algebra, music, band, etc.

Support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society

SATEC is participating in a school-wide fundraiser to benefit the MS Society.  On April 11, 2015, the MS Walk will be held in Burlington.  The funds raised through this and similar events support cutting edge research, programs, services and the search for a cure.

In honor of Erica DeBellis, a SATEC staff member who has MS, Mr. Therrien, our assistant principal, has presented the SATEC community with two challenges:

1)  If SATEC staff and students can raise $712 ($1 per student) by April 10th, Mr. Therrien will invite us to witness him getting his beard permanently dyed orange (MS organization color) during an assembly in the gymnasium on April 10th at 8:30 am.

2)  If SATEC staff and students can raise $1424 ($2 per student) by April 17th, Mr. Therrien will invite us to witness as Ms. DeBellis cuts off his orange beard during an assembly in the gymnasium on April 17th at 8:30 am.

Donations can be given to homeroom teachers or directly to the K-4 SSC.  Checks can be made out to the National MS Society (with the name Erica DeBellis) printed in the memo.

All donations will go toward the MS walk.  To learn more about MS, click here http://www.nationalmssociety.org/
