Homework Expectations

The primary purpose of homework is practice, an extension of the day’s work, time to work on long-term projects or an investigation of something for class discussion, not introduction of a new skill. Students should be able to complete it independently. If unable to complete an assignment independently, please notify your teacher. 7th—8th grade teachers work together as a team to plan for approximately one hour nightly, unless a student opts to take on extra courses or enrichment, such as language, algebra, music, band, etc.

Math and Science for the week of 4.20.15

Math:
* MMT2S4 and quiz 4.27.15
*3 Skill builders should have been done and corrected by Friday, 4.17.15.  Please finish over break if you did not meet this deadline
* S.A.S. (Stretching and Shrinking) Problem 1.2 (pg. 9) and ACEs 3, 4, 14, 22, and 24 (pgs. 12-18) was also due on Friday, 4.17.15.  Please make sure this assignment is complete and ready to be corrected.
Science:
*The majority of the 'Roller Coaster' performance assessment projects were presented on the Friday before break. We were all so impressed with the designs, functionality and construction that went into their work.  We really enjoyed listening to students talk about the steps they took to come up with their final product and watching their presentations.  Each of the coasters were unique, and the students were so excited to share; what a great way to apply and demonstrate all  they had learned through the unit!  If students were absent on Friday the 17th, they need to be prepared to give their class presentation of their project (packet must be finished, drawings of changes in design and all modifications that were made throughout the construction phase) on Monday, 4.27.15.
